Sometimes you can do everything right and it just doesn't make any difference when dealing with these tentacled bastards. So enjoy everyday like it's your last because each time you enter the water, it probably is.

Looks like an illustration from Invincible.
That's what happens when you take one of those unidentified sea eggs and put in in your uniform to eat later. It ends up hatching and eating you. Typical rookie mistake.
