Walking Dead - Part 2 - And Then It Rained

Rick - "Think about something else...puppies and kittens."

Survivor - "DEAD puppies and kittens."

I defy anyone to tell me that Sunday's new episode of 'The Walking Dead' wasn't awesome television. The things Rick and his new friends had to do to survive (the hand necklaces were a nice touch) were just about the limit for me. I don't think I could have done what he and the Asian kid Glen had to do to reach the truck.

And then...it rained. AAAAAAA!!!!

Another nice touch was taking out Mr. Choppy's wallet to let everyone know who he was before they 'sacrificed' him for the cause. Those touches are pure Kirkman. They made the right decision by making the creators one of the producers on the show. I wish they did that more often when translating shows from one medium to another.

It was fantastic episode that left me with a smile on my face even after putting me through those riveting escape sequences.

The hipster doofuses at the Onion AV Club blog gave this episode a thumbs down. Which goes to show you how idiotic they are.

No, it's on AMC - Sunday night. It's based on the awesome black and white comic book of the same name. It's a fantastic story of survivors after a outbreak of zombies. I defy anyone to tell me to my face that it is a bad show. It's scary as hell with moments of the blackest comedy. Smart people like you, Pearl, would love it because it's more a character study than a straight horror show.

I loved the heck out of it. The only thing I'm not liking about the series is having to wait a whole week between each episode.

I was having a late dinner when the scene where they chop the guy up came on. Not a good idea. lol

Kal, I just emailed. Did you get it? I need to touch bases, but I'm having email problems due to what seems to be hackers in the blogosphere. Let's connect soon. Please. Thanks.

Can't wait to see what happens when Rick gets back to the camp. No...I haven't read the comics.

Then I won't spoil it for you. There is a lot of good stuff coming up if they follow the comic closely. And by good stuff I don't mean happy stuff. All I can say is don't get attached to anyone. I love how I can't wait for the next episode in the same way I couldn't wait for the next issue of the comic book.

I knew the minute that Kirkman was a part of the team putting the TV show together that there was a good chance this program would be terrific. It's only two episodes in but it's some of the most compelling television I had ever seen. Such great little touches like the "he's an organ donor" line and Glen racing the car on the empty roads at the end of the episode. Great stuff. And you know we haven't seen the end of Michael Roker who brings great acting to anything he does.

I'm lovin' this show too. I didn't think they'd be able to top the first episode, but I was wrong. #2 was even better.

Rick's aim sure improved exponentially after waking up from his coma, though :) Much better now than when at the roadblock at the beginning.

I guess when you are shooting for your life you either improve or die. Plus he had shaken off those coma shakes.
