I was one who was a fan of this re-imagining of the Sherlock/Watson partnership right from the beginning and I am glad to see that with each episode my faith in this show continues to reward me in spades. The writing is sharper, the acting is better. The relationships are real. Johnny Lee Miller IS Sherlock Holmes and plays him as a petulant child with NO unexpressed thoughts in his head. He needs the banter with Watson to focus his genius - something the show revels in displaying at every opportunity.
The recent two parter featuring older brother Mycroft was genius. The sadness of their relationship is palpable. I watch the reactions of the two fantastic actors looking for any reaction - any proof of love between the two siblings. Televised drama doesn't get any better than that.
This is one of the few shows I pay attention to from beginning to end. I can never multitask during Elementary and that is high praise for any television program.
I often bitch about the number of episodes that make up a season of American television. I like 13 episode seasons favored by the cable networks. However, with Elementary, I reverse my edict. I want more. I want an episode a week. Every week. All year long. The show is that good.
"I want you to know that I will fix this. Every bit of it."

Check out 2000AD's "Cannon Fodder". That is some scary Sherlock stuff. Morriarty and Watson in a suicide pact try to find God to make him accountable for Judgement day whilst Holmes seeks out his "Hannibal lektor" brother Mycroft for help. Not for the squeamish.
Lucy Liu just gets hotter and hotter.
A pity Elementary is on CBS. If Sherlock were tracking down Hannibal on NBC I would watch that every night!
