I Got Something To Say To All You Toy Sellers

Back when I first started re-collecting action figures I would open every package to display them on my bookshelf. However that quickly stopped when so many loose figures became unruly. Plus I got all worried about losing the accessories. I have a couple of tubs full of loose figures and I know that every figure in those boxes has all their parts somewhere in either tub. I never loose accessories, even tiny ones like these blades on Whirlwind from the 90s Iron Man line.

This 3 3/4 inch Marvel Universe figure has ATTACHED blades which is good because the ones on the loose figure below are always coming off. I dropped one on the way up the stairs and I had to empty a whole box of packing peanuts to find it.

This leads me to my real point. I see people selling figures on Facebook all the time. Most are just bare bones without any accessories. I hate that. Why would I want something so incomplete? I could see if you were a customizer and just needed the raw material but if you were showing off these naked figures, what is the point? That is the line between hording and collecting.

I still feel bad that I had to settle on an incomplete Oscar Goldman. I still smile when I see him everyday but it's not the same as having the figure mint in package. But that is just me. I hate that I have to hunt down the cover to Oscar's exploding briefcase. That is such a waste of my time but I will do it for Oscar because I love him.

Oh and if I wanted this Whirlwind guy complete on card, he would cost me about 15 dollars on Amazon. Save up some purchases and get that free shipping. I love you Amazon. I must investigate more. It seems your shelves are very deep.

I know what you mean. There are some figures imo that just beg to be displayed with their accessories. I hated displaying my Bravestarr figure without his white cowboy hat.Little things like that really bug me.I also cant bring myself to put any repro parts on any of my vintage figures.

Somethings I don't mind missing bits but others I do depending on the figure but am just like that but complete is the best no doubt.

Loose is just fine, folks. If you're missing a part or your figure's suffering from an accidental missing leg, finger, or a bad paint job, why pay the extra for all the stuff...?

If you're buying one for the first time, I'd agree. As you know, trading fodder is always good to keep around.

I see your side too Dave. I wish there was an easy way to get the cover for my exploding briefcase but I know that someone out there has that part just lying around and is waiting for me to find him...pay 2 dollars and get it sent to me. With a 50 dollar shipping tag of course.
