The Silence Of The Butter Lambs

For as long as I can remember, Easter meant the arrival of the poor Butter Lamb. He knew he was to die soon. WE knew he was to die soon and we all just accepted our role in the Circle of Life. Nothing better than using his face to butter fresh rolls during Easter dinner.

This is really, really strange! Is there a story behind this or is this a well know tradition near where you grew up? I know sometimes state fairs will have animals and other objects sculpted from butter, but I've never hear of anything quite like this.

Always in our family. Orthodox which my mother is does these Easter Baskets to be blessed and the butter lamb is always a part of it. People make them to sell at the church this time of year. I tried to make one once but it look horrible. I love it. Look it up on the Google.
