When I was 11, I went to a school in Europe that had us pass by the base theatre on our way to class. I went by their movie posters everyday and I knew every single movie that was playing or upcoming through the preview posters and lobby cards. NONE of these films made a bigger impression on me than the poster for the 1976 remake of King Kong. For a month we studied every inch of the poster and speculated amongst ourselves about how totally different our lives would be after seeing this epic. And for someone that young, the movie was AMAZINGLY GREAT. Sure parts of it don't hold up these days, but as a kid I loved this movie almost more than what is normal for a human being.
