Pulp Sensations

You would think that the first box of magazines that a father gave his son would be full of old school porn but in my case it was a whole collection of Space Pulp Magazines from the 30s and 40s. While many of the stories contained within are ultimately forgettable, the cover art is what really fueled a young boy's imagination and primed me for my eventual love of comic books and are blamed for my being late to notice that naked women were nice to look at too. Dad knew one obsession could never be avoided so why not encourage an equally valid obsession before it was missed entirely. There was genius in that magnificent man.
