V - First Look

The original mini-series with Marc Singer was quite the event when I was a kid. Those were the days when a show would be broadcast over consecutive nights and there were less channels than there are today. Everyone was watching and we talked of nothing else the next day at school. It also didn't hurt that 'V' had one of those "Holy Crap!" moments when everything bad we suspected about the alien visitors turned out to be true. It was a true shocker. After all, why would they come to this planet unless they planned to make trouble. Just watch our TV news for a week and any smart extraterrestrials would avoid us like warm cola. We are sneaky, angry, petty, greedy little grubs who would take advantage of them and their technology first chance we got. This first look from ABC is interesting enough to get me to tune into the whole miniseries when it premieres in November. Now lets hope they just leave it at that and not rush a sequel like they did back in the 80s. That whole 'starchild' mess just ruined what was a great show in its time. No wonder the weekly series barely lasted 13 episodes. Sometimes its best to not go to the well too often.
