I Almost Forgot How Freakin' Great This Show Was

But then Season 3 began and I was reminded that thugs and floozies rule the world.

Meg Chambers Steedle stole the first episode as Billie Kent, Nucky's new mistress. There is just something about the way a 'flapper' looks when she sings and dances - it's just so...modern. Bobby Cannavale is also fantastic as Gyp Rosetti. He brings a dangerous new element to the mix. For the first time I am actually afraid for Nucky because Gyp is someone who does his own dirty work.

John Doyle gave Boardwalk a rave review in today's Globe and Mail. John Doyle only raves about quality TV, of which there is very little, in his estimation.

It is a really great show. Some people call it slow but I call is lush and I am glad it takes it's time presenting it's stories. It makes the explosions of violence so much more realistic and frankly, exciting.

I wasn't overly impressed with Meg Chambers, but anything is a step up from that train wreck, Paz de la Huerta.

Maybe because I dislike Paz so much (sloppy sloppy sloppy) that I was charmed. Most other women on that show are working my last nerve especially Margaret and Gillian.
