I had this toy when I was a kid. I'm pretty sure it was a gift for my 13th Birthday. I actually still have it on the shelf downstairs.

My dad was a big fan of the original show, so he made sure to educate us the VHS tapes. Unfortunately the robot never said the classic "Danger Will Robinson" line in any of those first few episodes that we had, but I wore out the buttons on this toy who said it a lot!

Hey, all right! "The Robot."

I never understood why they brought "The Robot" with them anyway. Did it serve any useful purpose? (Besides receiving a lot of colorful Dr. Smith insults.) And why bring something so ungainly, with tiny little wheels on the bottom like that?

It was an "Environmental Control Robot" designed to survey atmospheric, meteorological, and geological conditions whatever planet they landed on. He was also useful for moving large obstacles such as rocks, ward of enemies with electrical bolts, and often serve as translator and rules lawyer with the humanoid of the week.

Every spaceship in the future comes with a robot, didn't you know that?

No kidding! Well, you learn something new every day. Thanks for the explanation.

Just an awesome toy, sir, seeing always makes me want to ADD to my existing over-abundance of... collectables.

I used to have my Zintar Zeroid perform the same function for my Major Matt Mason team... Ah, THOSE were the days.

He was sold in conjunction with the Lost In Space movie. I have the other more modern robot too.
