I used to love those lunch boxes, although my thermos would always break.

I always say I would collect lunch boxes if they werent' so expensive these days. I have many modern metal superhero ones though.

I hated those silver lined thermos' because some kid always swallowed a piece of metal and I was terrified to drink out of it.

This Superman lunchbox is a disappointment and a half. It triumphantly blazes the Superman logo up top, but brandishes the Daily Planet supporting cast. "Caped Wonder Stuns City", oh yeah, don't show us that kind of action, it might be too exciting for our tiny little minds to handle!

Maybe Superman in costume is on the other side of the lunchbox.

That Six Million Dollar Man one is kind of suggestive, isn't it?

Hey, I had a Huckleberry Hound lunchbox, but I tossed it in favor of a Rocky and Bullwinkle one. Jesus, that was in 1957. Now you made me feel ancient.

Mine was a "Gunsmoke" lunchbox, which shouldn't surprise anyone :)

I looked at them on ebay once a couple of years ago because I thought it would be funny to get one like I had as a kid and use it to take my lunch to work. I didn't realize that people collected them and they were so expensive!

They are so nostalgic and easy to display that there was no chance they wouldn't become expensive collectibles.
