Arrival’s Denis Villeneuve Will Direct Dune Reboot

Yeh sure, and monkeys will fly out of my butt. This will never get made. Dune is notoriously difficult to film and if you are going to do the story right you have to commit to three movies that cover the first four books in the series, the ones that Herbert himself actually wrote. Then you get the full Atreides saga. Personally I would like to see Luc Beson take this one on but the guy who did the great ARRIVAL might be the best choice for the job. I just want to see the movie get made.

After months of speculation regarding who might be at the helm of the highly anticipated reboot of “Dune,” it’s now been confirmed that Denis Villeneuve will be the director of the project.

In a brief tweet by Brian Herbert (the son of “Dune” author Frank Herbert), he confirmed that Legendary Pictures and Villeneuve have reached an agreement to direct the new “Dune” film.

I read about this yesterday and I hope I make it to see this one. Maybe it will give me the will to live a little longer.
