Dead at 64, Pete Postlethwaite

I made an audible gasp when I read this. One of the all time great character actors. Goodnight sweet prince.

now, there's a shame. hard to think of any one single role that he was at his best, but, you know what? I thought he was absolutely spellbinding in Romeo & Juliet. he's gonna be missed, that's for sure.

I, too made an audible gasp when I read this. He was a great actor. I saw him on stage at Stratford-upon-Avon in England years ago in a production of Macbeth. He played MacDuff and he was awesome. I've followed his film career since then. He is a great loss to the industry.

So sad. I always liked this guy whenever I saw him.

He's been in a ton of movies.

Way, way WAY too young to go.

Mr. Kobayashi (Usual Suspects) was only ONE of his many memorable characters. Just watched him in 'The Town' and upon first seeing him it reassured me that I was going to enjoy the rest of the movie because his pressence in any film was good enough to be worthy of adding an extra star to the production.

I have a feeling that at Oscar time when they do that ghoulish montage of who has left this mortal coil that, despite being told to hold their applause, he will get his anyways upon the audience seeing his face.
