I don't know why I love jail and police shows so much. Maybe it's all the interesting characters they choose to highlight. Despite the fear of being shot at, being a cop much just be a hoot. Like teaching, you never know what the day will bring. No matter how hard you plan, someone will show up drunk, without a shirt, and have just peed their pants.
'Cops' is a must download every Saturday night and now they have shows that just focus on police women of various cities around the country. These girls are terrific - the real deal. I love watching them deal with the drunk and disorderly people they come across in an average shift. You definitely see the different ways that woman diffuse tense situations compared to men. They are so much more empathetic.
Just don't call them 'baby', 'honey' or 'sweetie' or you are going to get tazed. Funny how that is something those officers just don't appreciate.

My SIL is a cop. Except when it feels dangerous, he says it's the most fun job he's ever had. I've been to some of their parties. These guys make fun of everything and everyone they deal with. A couple of the them are women and they take some lip from the guys, that's for sure...
That is why I have so much respect for female cops. They take alot of shit in tnat culture just to do their job despite the fact that often they are better at the job then men because of the natural abilities they bring to it. Women in the army have similar hurdles to overcome and that is unfortunate.
