Spin Your Way Out Of This One Bitch

If I don't see wholesale condemnation of Sarah Palin so fierce that it forever drives that c*nt to the deepest ice crevice Alaska has, the America, you DESERVE to tail spin into the abyss.

This is ENOUGH. For once put two and two together and realize that this 'figure' that a certain segment of your population has anointed queen despite her total lack of understanding and rampant narcissism in a dangerous lunatic.

She thinks she can say anything and her words have no consequences. I so hope that this time she has gone to far. I hope they can tie this nut to her rhetoric and I say that with having just read this story.

But let me tell you how it will go. Gun nut kills people. Gun nut shoots himself. Sarah Palin blames 'lamestream' media for bringing up her poster with FUCKING TARGETS AND NAMES and you all just let her roam free to cause whatever havoc amuses her.

Fuck Sarah Palin and fuck you if you can't make the connection.

"Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) was among the estimated 15 or more victims of a shooting outside a Safeway store in Tucson, Arizona within the past hour. So far, 15 are reported wounded, 6 dead. Details are still coming in, but what has been reported so far: she was "shot point blank in the head," the assailant(s) fired some 15 or more shots into the crowd, and this took place at a "town hall" sort of event during where Giffords was speaking to her constituents. One shooter is reported to be alive and in custody.

Early news reports: NPR, NYT, CNN, Tucson Citizen.

Above, a tweet the congresswoman published just before the gathering began.

Also: "Congresswoman Giffords is married to astronaut Mark Kelly, making her the only current member of Congress to have a spouse who is a member of the Armed Forces, and the only member of Congress to ever have a spouse in space." Kelly is the Commander of Space Shuttle Mission STS-134.

Gifford was among those in Arizona whose offices were targeted with vandalism and threats during the health care debate in 2009.
(via @nytjim)

Giffords was also one of the lawmakers Sarah Palin "set her sights on" in the Palin PAC infographic below (takebackthe20.com). The congresswoman and others are targeted with simulated gun sights on a map of the United States."

Update - The Congresswoman is still in surgery at this time which is good news. I am also glad that for once the police got the shooter before he killed himself. Please oh please let him bring up Palin's name in the interrogation.

Palin's handlers will spin it to make her look like a victim again.
Damn her and the Tea Party all to Hell.

I just hope there are some with the courage to finally make her stand responsible for her hateful rhetoric. That nutcase who did the shooting was capture alive for once so maybe his interrogation will review alot about his mindset and how people like Beck and Palin incided them.

When Palin go away clean with her hit list poster before I thought someone had dropped the ball investigation wise. And where was the outrage. I want to see people not only outraged over this but indignant. GOOd luck makin gpublic experience next week Sarah.

The first place I read about this was right here on your Blog Kal. You've nailed it right here. Will the American public let her spin away from this? The world is watching...

I didn't see that poster util it appeared here. I don't like Sarah Palin, and I would be hard-pressed to vote for her, even if she WAS running against Barack Obama.

But I also don't get the automatic assumption that the psychopath who opened fire on a crowd of people was a right-wing psychopath.

Giffords also supported closing the Arizona border with Mexico, did she not? If these murders are to be blamed on someone other than the killer, might not the movie "Machete" be more at fault than some poster?

I can also think of one other group of "activists" to which young male psychopaths prone to mass-murder a likely to belong.

I don't think Palin has anything to spin away from, yet.

Shooter's been ID's as Jared Loughner, a 22-year-old who listed "Mein Kampf" and "The Communist Manifesto" among his favorite books on a Facebook page.

We don't have to assume he was a right-wing nutcase. He had a YouTube page.

You are right of course. Just like the shooter, I was expressing my first reaction while taking a break from reading MEIN FRICKIN' KAMPF!!!! Someone tell me that Sarah hasn't at least scimmed it (because she never finishes anything) in college.

For once I am going to act like the Right/Fox News does and assume facts not in evidence about the motives of this guy and his influences. If they find Palins stupid book in his collection too then we can finally close the lid that piece of garbage. Well both pieces of garbage.

What an awful, awful, fucking tragedy. I read there was a 9 year old little girl shot in the mayhem too. I hope Arizona has the death penalty. I'm hopeful that he won't be able to skate out of being held responsible because of an insanity plea... he's defintely crazy, but I don't want that to work in his favor.

Watched the youtube clips that Huffpost managed to grab before they were taken down by Youtube - this guy was clearly off his nut. Mostly ramblings about "conscious dreaming" and some obsessions with starting a new currency.

It will be interesting to see what other information comes out about this creep in the days to come. I'm sure there will be plenty of blame laid in the coming days. Some of it valid and some of it ridiculous. Certainly interesting to browse his MySpace favorite books list...

And for those very quick to condemn the Right Wing for this tragedy, anger toward politicians comes from all sides. Here's a link to the Google Webcache of a post at DailyKos that they took down because they didn't want anyone to see it:

The diarist states that his anger with the Senator is so great over her voting against Nancy Pelosi as Speaker, that he now considers her Dead to him.

I wish someone would take Sarah Palin to task for her inane drivel. She depresses the hell out of me.

Kal said...

Oh Paladin. Tell me you DID NOT just go with the 'well they do it too' excuse. Name me ONE fuckin' liberal/progressive that has flown a plane into a building, or shot up an abortion clinic (because of O'Riley's hammering at Tkller The Baby Killer). At least our wack-jobs don't end up killing innocents. Your side actively incites these weak minded individuals and sit back with clean hands and a smile of glee when something bad does happen. Unfucking believable. Oh for that 'proof' you provided? It's a totally different thing to wish somebody dead than to actually make it so.

Kal said...

Sadako - This time Sarah cannot avoid being called to the carpet for her behavior and words. I can't wait for her to explain herself because we all know that her lack of intelligence and monstrous ego will be her own undoing the second she opens her stupid pie hole.

Kal said...

I know I am going to lose followers for taking such a hard line like this against the delicate Mrs Palin but I don't care. Wrong is wrong is wrong and words and deeds have consequences. We have let this kind of atmposphere (that really ramped up when Obama got elected and the right encouraged everyone to do all they could to insure this black man's failure) American, THIS is why you empire is in ruins. Time to take it back from the elements who would only destroy you.

Paladin said...

No. I didn't. You miss my point. So I'll clear it up.

The reason that I posted a link to the liberal rant against the Congresswoman, including that person's unfortunate choice of words to express their anger, is because I believe that painting political actions onto the actions of a clearly insane individual is not appropriate. Crazy did this, not politics. It's not the gun, it's not the Right, it's not the Left, it's the man.

I get that you don't like Palin. I've no problem with that. I do think maybe you're letting your distaste for Palin and the Tea Party color your view of the incident, though.

Kal said...

Yeh the crazy pulled the trigger but it incredible to me that you an totally discount or accept that the politics of fear and the politics of demonization by media personal on the right had NOTHING, absolutely nothing to do with what happen today.

Glen Beck has no influence on the guy who was caught before he shot up some liberal think tank that Beck encouraged his viewers to attack.

Stop drinking the bullshit Kool-aid FOR ONCE and connect the dots. A six year old could do that with all the evidence in front of them.

Why else except for a guilty conscience and a desire to cover her ass is Palin deleting her more devsive tweets and facebook posts. Like if you wipe away the digital footprint than what she did can magically become unsaid. If you were proud of those positions so much that you put them out there in writing then how can you not defend them now. It's because she crossed the line so far that even she can't wriggle her way out of this with on of her incomprehensible ramblings.

Please don't comment anymore on this issue Paladin because your views on this topic are infuriating me. This is NOT the time to reason with me. Just admit that even you are tilting your head over this one. It invalidates every belief you so articulately express when you become an apologist for evil.

I like you and don't want to say something to drive you away tonight. I appreciate your contribution to the discussion but today my indigtion and anger may lead me to say something to you that I will regret.

If you can't get on my side for this one then what hope is there for ANY kind of discourse between our respective sides.

It's like the way the right treats Obama - NOTHING the man does is ever right or good enough. EVERY DAMN THING. How is that open minded? How can anyone work or compromise with such idiots?

No worries, Cal ... I'll honor your wishes and treat this one as a no-fly zone, for now at any rate.

I'm not going anywhere unless you ask me to leave the Cave. I value your opinion as well, and I've come to enjoy our discussions.

Watching right-wing rhetoric about this is making me want to vomit. Seriously. What a horseshit batch of false equivalency, combined with a lot of "Who, us?" It reminds me of the school bullies who taunt a kid into breaking a rule, and then pleading innocence themselves when the kid is caught breaking that rule. Right-wing rhetoric has been violent and sick in this country for years, and it's not just Palin's Twitter feed or Michelle Bachman or Sharron Angle. Take that pro-life site that listed abortion doctors and their addresses, which would then nicely strike them out whenever one of them was murdered.

Read the work of journalist David Neiwert and you'll see some very, very frightening rhetoric out there. I myself remember a blogger who used to sell coffee mugs with a picture of a gun on one side, and the slogan "So many liberals, so little time!" on the other. I remember another blogger who offered t-shirts reading, "Rope. Tree. Journalist. Some assembly required." Years ago, after Waco, you had G. Gordon Liddy on the radio telling listeners that if they saw ATF agents coming at them, they were to go for the head shot.

Right-wingers have talked like this for years, but now that someone's actually gone off the deep end, they want to deny any notion that their rhetorical climate -- aided and abetted by FOX News -- had anything to do with it. It's breathtaking...and more than a little saddening that it might just work, because right-wingers shape all political discussion in this country. Next up we'll have Respected Elders in the Media wringing their hands about how "Both sides" need to tone it down, with the proof being -- of course! -- a gunman on one side, and a pseudonymous DailyKos diarist on the other.

Was this guy a lockstep right-winger? Maybe, maybe not. He was certainly sympathetic to a number of goofball libertarian and right-wing causes. And when you have insane people hearing crazy rhetoric with which they are partially sympathetic, it's not hard to connect the dots.

Kal said...

There IS no rationalization for this. I hope this week that SOMEONE in the media (I am so looking forward to Bill Maher, Stehanie Miller, Rachel Maddow, Keith Oberman ect...dig their teeth into this one).

I want to see the 'Daily Show' collect all the sound bites and video feeds to create a picture of hate that has all but been allowed to go unchallenged in the media.

I want some young smart gonzo journalist to appear out of the woodwork who will do ACTUAL journalism and expose these frauds to a largre audience.

I am not saying it will be easy because people cling to their prejudices the same way they cling to their bibles and guns but at least AN ATTEMPT at restoring sanity needs to be done. If ever we were going to expose these dangerous hate mongers it's now. ENOUGH! Maybe we can drag a few intelligent conservatives away from the kool-aid table long enough to see that their most extreme elements (as are ours) need to be weeded out and put down like dogs. And by put down I don't mean killing them but killing the soapbox they have had free reign to use for far far far too long.

If this isn't the tipping point that allows good and decent people to turn the doomed ship called America around then nothing will.

Thanks for your contribution to this conversation.

To my mind, this killing is the result of mixing politics with religion. All through history, when that happens there is persecution and murder of those who disagree with the religious nut jobs.
I am a Christian, but I think that should equal love, not hate. But Jesus warned of false prophets who "...come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves."
(I hope you don't mind me quoting the Bible.)

Kal said...

I have no problem with you quoting the Bible when you use it to make so elegant and perfect a point. I love your idea of this tragedy being a mix of politics and religion. I missed that observation but will steal it to use in future conversations I have with people about this topic if YOU don't mind.
