The quality of the animation certainly makes that "Ninja Turtles" episode I just watched look better by comparison, though I do admire the quality of the ink drawings that they used for the historical scenes and reminds me a lot of the style of early adventure comic strip artists like Milton Caniff or Doug Wildey.

And the history is solid. The stories often sent me to the World Book Encyclopedia for more detailed information.

Dear lord, I thought I'd managed to forget this, then you have to bring it up! Quit dredging up all the sucky moments from my childhood!
