More News From Toy Fair 2013

Things seem very Bat-centric these days around the Cave of Cool but that is because there is so much Bat-cool coming out of Toy Fair. These are the Ken and Barbies done in the style of the 60s TV show. Not alot of detail but nice none the less. I would like to see the packaging and the extra accessories that may come with them. I think I need to watch that series again. It's been years since I have seen an episode.

Its about frickin' time! I remember watching the old Batman show after school when I was little (before discovering had Batman's animated adventures) I've almost ashamed to say that I've seen every episode of this show, while I've only seen half of the Original Star Trek's run. The early episodes definitely had a unmistakable tongue-in-cheek comedy feel before giving way to seasonal rot and repeat formulas. By season three things were getting really bizarre with antics like Joker challenging Batman to a surf contest or fight scenes that took place entirely in the dark.

If you see only a handful of episodes, I'd say you're set for life, but I still hold a soft spot for its place in history and how it helped give Batman his mainstream street cred. I also watch "Batman: The Movie" at least once a year. Its so surreal and is easily my favorite comedy film of all time.

I think my patience with the show will depend entirely on the villain. For example I would never miss a Frank Gorshin Riddler episode but Caesar Romero just wears on me.

Burgess Meredith is, was and always shall be The Penguin. You can't go wrong with any episode he is in.

Their "over the Top" Villains are what really made the show... I would like to have the "Car woman" figure... but would not have much use for the Batman...

Julie Newmar's "Cat Woman" ...( Not Car Woman...)

It definately is a line of characters that no one has done right in years and that is stupid concidering how iconic the show was to pop culture.

I am so happy this finally happening. I hope this line does well and we get to see more characters, villians, plus the Batcave and other bat-vehicles.

OMG...I never thought of an in-scale Batboat and Batplane. Then the Catwoman three pack. And the Holy Grail, the Batcave. Imagine being able to move the Giant Penny and T-Rex around.
