Who's Making The Who Hash?

When it was Dad's turn to cook that usually meant breakfast for supper (which was always great) or what he called Chuckwagon Dinner. It was everything he could fry together in one pan and you added ketchup to it. If you asked what was in it he would say that it was HOT, it was BROWN and there was plenty of it. Usually that meant hamburger, potatoes, mushrooms, spices, beans and sometimes noodles. It WAS great with ketchup and a couple slices of garlic toast. After we got older we changed the name of it to Who Hash - in honor of the Grinch himself - my Dad's favorite Christmas special.

Seeing this product reminded me of the exact same culinary family. The Who Hash from How The Grinch Stole Christmas is a product whose time has come.

Then he slunk to the ice box. He took the Whos’ feast, he took the who pudding, he took the roast beast. He cleaned out that ice box as quick as a flash. Why, the Grinch even took their last can of Who hash.”

The last can of Who Hash won’t be stolen from your Christmas feast! Corned Beef Hash- in the spirit of The Grinch Who Stole Christmas

Ingredients:
  • 2 tbs butter
  • 2 cups chopped up and cooked corned beef
  • 3 cups chopped up and cooked potato
  • 2 tbsp minced onion
  • 3-4 tbsp of gravy (or beef stock)
  • Fresh Ground Black Pepper, to taste
Instructions:
  • Melt butter in a frying pan.
  • Add in corned beef, potatoes, and minced onion.
  • Make sure it is all distributed evenly around the pan and let cook until browned. When one side is browned, turn the mixture over and let the other side brown.
  • Stir in gravy or beef stock for added moisture and flavour.
  • Sprinkle with salt and pepper and serve.
