Currently Playing At The Bijou Of Cool - Streets Of Fire

Are you freaking kidding me? The greatest rock and roll musical fable ever put to screen. The gorgeous Diane Lane has never been more beautiful and vulnerable. Her only love, Cody, is the kind of brooding anti-hero we wish we could all get away with being. Michael Pare made this and Eddie and the Cruisers so he gets a lifetime pass from me. When people call a film a 'cult classic' this is the one I immediately think of. I have worn out more than my share of cassettes of the soundtrack. It's goofy and doesn't try to be anything more than it is, a rock and roll fable about good guys and bad guys and true love. Damn if it doesn't get to me every time.

I am not sure you know this, so I will tell about the sort of sequel that our company Howlin' Wolf Records released the soundtrack to. The film "Road to Hell" will be released on DVD/BLU-RAY soon and features a green-screen type of story and wonderful tribute to the original in songs.

I have heard of this sequel and I am leery of it...just because I love the original SO MUCH.
