The high profile deaths just keep coming. This one hit me hard. It seems that for decades I have heard about her ability to communicate with sign language and her love of kitties. It was a legit news story at least twice a year. Her website crashed this morning and that just shows you how unique and beloved she was throughout her life.

So sad to read about this... if you've not seen it, search for the video of Koko and Mr. Rogers.
sad to hear of her passing... would have to say she was more humane than many humans.... nearly "human" herself
Such sad news today. Koko touched a lot of hearts in her lifetime.
Got to agree with Dr. T. More worthy than much of humanity. Saw Mr. Roger's visit with Koko a while back. Touching to say the least.
She just understood people at a very basic creature to creature level. I like the story where her long time kitty died and she was depressed and after a time they brought in three for her to choose from and she just kept them all. That girl knew her value.
