Looking at those lions, I think you have misread the situation. They aren't about to devour him; they think his outfit is FAAABulous, and want one of their own.
Also, man, those are some big lions.
Of course...the Siegfred and Roy Effect..how could I have missed it.
I thought that he was trying to lull the lions into a false sense of security by wearing a laughable outfit.
