I Had A Dream Once

Our town's local Christian school recently put on a production of  'Fiddler on the Roof' - the first real stage musical that I ever saw as a kid. It still remains one of my favorites mostly because of the main character Tevye, played in the film on on Broadway by the magical Topol. If I could play one role on stage it would be this one. The reasons are obvious - you get to sing this terrific song.

You were born to play Tevye. Well, if not born, then as soon as you grew that beard.

FOTR is one of my all-time faves too.

I had this beard when I was ten.

I haven't worked a summer in 30 years. Too much overplanning for kids these days. Not enough daydreaming and building tree forts.

You and I had the same dream.

Sadly I no longer have the beard, but if someone were to say to me, Mike, you can have the role of Tevye I would grow it back double quick.
