These last one was created by Cave of Cool follower Eric Johnson. Check out his site for more excellent artworks. Another illustrator whose talents I am envious of.
I actually created an entry for this contest myself and submitted it this morning, (you can see it at my blog if you just click on my name), not realizing that the first wave of entries would be seen before the April deadline.
That being said, I do like a lot of these poster over the "official" ones.
Another case of 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it'. I love the 'Cuban Missile Crisis' angle but you could have made it work with the first five and a few members of the original 'Brotherhood'. This movie has a lot to overcome if it's going to get my support. Not fair I know but that is what you get from making a genre film.
I am also reeling from the fact that Darren Aronofsky has left his job directing the 'Wolverine' sequel.
Hey Thanks for posting mine Kal, you didn't have to do that! At least your green with envy on St. Patrick's Day! hahaha.
Just for clarification though, the silhouette posters are not mine but are actually the posters made my the paid professionals in Hollywood. I had them in my blog entry to contrast their use of "floating heads", compared to my own.
Thanks for the information. I will fix that right now. I should ask you about commissioning a 'Cave of Cool' drawing. Now that you have been here awhile I suspect you know my prominant 'themes'.
I forever stand vigilant to protect this planet from the myriad of forces that are always against us. Be it the octopus, zombies, aliens or the robots my team of human agents, and our feline allies, circle the globe in a never ending struggle for human freedom.
I learn all I can on every subject that interests me. I especially enjoy ancient history because in the past there are valuable lessons to be found. Also, if I ever get my time machine to work properly, it would be good to know a bit about possible destinations and what to expect when I get there.
I greatly appreciate beautiful design. Be it manufactured or found naturally I am fascinated by the process of invention. I am attracted to the unique, the strange, the haunted. I like to share what I find on this blog.
And not let us forget the 'Cephalopod Menace' who, if allowed to, would wrap their tentacles around all that is good and pure in this life and crush it until it remained no more. They are creatures of pure spite. Hate is all they know. Death is all they do. They are our most ruthless and determined enemy.
So we fight. Selena has the celebrity contacts, the cat is ruthless and without pity, Roosevelt's ghost has the experience and I do the wetwork.
Fighting for the future of the planet doesn't have to be a chore, however. We can take the time to appreciate all that is cool in this world even as we cut the octopus into bite sized chunks.
This is the reason there has always been and must forever be, a Cave of Cool. Be sure to wipe your feet before you enter.

I like the ones you did also. If it's okay I am going to add them to this post with acknowledgement of course.
I went back and read x-men #1 and I am pretty sure the first class was completely different than the one in this movie.

I agree. There's a lot riding on this one for me. I hope they don't screw it up too bad. Yeah, the Darren things is crazy.
