Jake And Elwood

This was the first movie that I saw multiple times - seen it enough times to have most of the great lines memorized. It always gives me good memories of the past when going out to a show with your friends was real freedom.

Great movie with an even greater soundtrack! I haven't watched this in years... will have to track it down again.

I love Horror Movies... But the Blues Brothers is still my favorite movie ... one of the few things that can really lift my spirits... thanks

I finally got around to seeing this movie last summer. Unfortunately the DVD copy I got was so scratched up that it couldn't play a scene for more than five minutes without freezing up. I got around this technical hiccup by stopping the player and flipping the disk over (it was one of those full screen on one side, widescreen on the other deals) then skip to the scene that I left off on. It'd stall on that side too, so I just kept this up process until it was done. (I've always imagined this is what Laserdisc players were like)

Sure it was annoying, but the movie was so good that I didn't care! I had this same problem the first time I tried to watch "Die Hard", but I just waited for that one to come up on Netflix Instant to save me that kind of agony. This is exactly why I'm probably the last person in the state to still own and continue to purchase VHS tapes.

A couple months ago my Mom saw a T-Shirt with a picture of the hat and sunglasses with the line "We're on a mission from God" on it and didn't know what it meant. Explaining the plot out loud make you release just how strange it really is.

That is hilarious. You are right, if anyone told you the story you would never see the movie. It has to be seen to be believed. Tons of energy in this one and it only gets better with each viewing.

VHS? You are kicking it old school. The only way it could be worse if you were into BETA tapes which I still maintain are a better picture.

I've always wanted to park a car like Elwood.

You can't teach that kind of driving. It's all instinct.

I have such a huge crush on John Belushi, especially as Jake. Do you know what that's like--having a crush on a dead guy? It must be what nuns who are married to Christ feel like.
