My Sad Little Tulip Patch

I love tulips. They remind me of Holland, a place I deeply love and for me they are the first sign that spring is here after a usually long winter. This year winter was mild and yesterday was 25 Celcius in APRIL. I am choked because after all those fresh bulbs I planted last fall, only a few have been strong enough to burst through the ground. I was planning for a whole huge BOX of Tulips this year. I even added new dirt full of nutrients to make sure that the bulbs got the best start they could. And don't tell me I planted them too deep because I know how to plant a tulip bulb. Now I have to find other flowers to fill up the box. Gah! I just want flowers.

Tulips are notoriously tricky that way. Do you think squirrels or rabbits dug them up and ate them? Sometimes the little bastards do that.

No squirrels and I never see dig marks or half eaten bulbs. I think the bulb packages are faulty.

Ours came up, grew for a week or two, then just died.
Must be a bad season for tulips.
