The Magnificent Seven Teaser Trailer

I never see the need for a remake when the original is so great and so iconic but I have been hurting for a good revenge western for a long time now so I will give this one a look.

Maybe they didn't want the comparison or couldn't get the rights.

What about The Hateful Eight? That was a good recent western revenge movie.

You do realize that "the original" magnificent seven is in fact a remake of an amazing movie...

Of course. But I don't see anyone remaking 7 Samurai

I went to our local arthouse movie theatre to see "Seven Samurai" and it was soooooooooooo long and soooooooooooooo dull that I left about half way through. And I almost NEVER walk out on movies.

I only ever walked out on Spaceballs and Maximum Overdrive.

Sorry but no one can replace the cast of the first movie.
No matter how hard they try, all day long. I know it's not
the same movie, but sucks to their new one. Looks like they
went for the typical action movie recipe. I'll watch it
when it comes out on DVD.

Oh man you got that right. YUL BRYNNER as a cowboy? Who ever thought he would be second to John Wayne as the greatest movie cowboy of all time.

DrGoat, when you said "first movie," I thought you meant "Seven Samurai," LOL! I thought to myself, "Goddamn, HE's a purist!" But now I see what you mean and I agree with you.
