Andy Warhol said that "Art is what you can get away with." Case in point.

Good quote. Warhol was a freak but he knew alot about art and how to sell it.

That is pathetic .... Well the artist is a talentless piece of "crud" for trying to pass this off as art...
I should know ...I have had almost 6 years of art at school...

And you won't sell nothing you do as good as it is until you are noticed.

What's pathetic about an artist making his art? That it sold for more than most of us fellow artists make in a lifetime of selling our work? I'll admit that I've seen some work that makes me scratch my head, even by the genius Andy Warhol, but as an artist myself, I find it hard to "hate" another artists work... what's to hate? What would that say about me? I was lucky to have a mother that exposed me to a wide array of art at the art museum at an early age, giving me a true appreciation of a variety of nomenclatures & disciplines within the realm. While color field painting may come off as a little "cool" or boring, doing it right is not child's play. The more populist favorite Rothko does little for me, but Kenneth Noland, Gene Davis, and Ellsworth Kelly made some well crafted work that deserves further investigation by any whom are unfamiliar with the movement. Ask yourself why you feel these emotions, why these artists worked in this way, and then look at what came before and after. Art APPRECIATION, People. Think like a student and learn more.
