I grew up reading reprint comics from the "Silver Age" 60s and the "Steel Age" 80s, so the "Bronze Age" 70s has seemed very elusive to me, and I'm very grateful for this Alex Ross painting for making what I might have once consider silly look epic.

Well now you have no excuse not to catch up. Like any 'age' it has it's goofy books but some are really great. All that Captain Marvel stuff seemed to be drawn and written for a different kind of comic fan, someone who was looking for that kind of complexity. The first of the great original Marvel graphic novels was The Death of Captain Marvel.

LOVED Starlin's MarVell.. Such a wonderous story arc with Thanos, weaving in and out of other book storylines for nearly a decade. Imagine some twerp tryin' that today..?
