Neil deGrasse Tyson Helps Superman

Well what do you know, DC Comics has some imagination these days. They consulted the famous astrophysicist to ground their story of Superman witnessing the destruction of Krypton in some sort of reality. You can read the NPR story by going HERE.

I can't look at this high collar suit with such a grayish blue and raised "S" Logo without thinking of "Red Son".

Yeh. Totally unecessary costume design. Thank you for nothing Jim Lee. Superman doesn't even need the illusion of armour...he's SUPERMAN for Christ sake. There is a reason his look is iconic.

Totally agree. It looks like hell anyway. No need to add anything to the suit.

It must be a bitch to draw also.

I could write a whole post about what I love and loathe in superhero costumes, but It'd be long, directionless and rambling.

Its just interesting that around the same time Superman got this new look Spidey got a new costume as well and the comparison between the two is day and night as Spidey's change are subtle and actually seem to benefit both the character and the artist while Superman here looks like a variant action figure.
