And They Wonder Why We Fear Gunowners

The 535 members of the House and Senate in both parties that allowed such a law to pass would largely be on their own; the Secret Service is too small to protect all of them and their families, the Capitol Police too unskilled, and competent private security not particularly interested in working against their own best interests at any price. The elites will be steadily whittled down, and if they can not be reached directly, the targets will become their staffers, spouses, children, and grandchildren. Grandstanding media figures loyal to the regime would die in droves, executed as enemies of the Republic.
Viral right wing post threatening wave of assassinations if gun control is passed.

Though to be honest I would like to see Eric Canton pistol whipped in the House Chamber then abused sexually by some escaped zoo monkeys but he is too much of a coward to vote against anything that is right for the American people so the gun nuts will probably spare this douchebag.

Would all the good gun owners surround the Capitol and protect the law maker from all the unreasonable gun owners? That is what I would love to see because there are good responsible people out there who I don't mind having a gun. Yes, Paladin, I mean you, buddy. Promise me you won't be a part of the the dark side.

Is this gun control you speak of going to apply to the military and all of the President's bodyguards? Until then shut ya trap...

You know I say that in jest.

The bit you quoted was written by a man named Bob Owens. Its a paragraph from a longer essay titled "What you'll see in the Rebellion". Its not a threat, Cal.

Its a warning.

Bob isn't threatening to do this sort of thing. He's warning what could happen if the powers that be continue their quest over-ride the constitution. This isn't something that he wants to happen. Its something he sees as inevitable should things continue on their present course.

He knows it will happen, because its happened again and again throughout the history of mankind. To ignore that or believe that it could never happen here is the height of hubris.

Should the US Government be afraid of gun owners? If they are half as smart as they think they are, then yes. Most definitely.

US citizens will consent to be governed if they are governed justly. They will not be ruled.

Right now, there are States considering legislation that would attempt to ban - not just assault rifles - but virtually all weapons, magazines, and ammunition. Is it any wonder that many citizens of the US don't believe it when they are promised that their 2nd Amendment rights aren't being infringed?

Actions involve consequences. There's a good chance both sides of this issue will experience that fact in the days to come.
