Sometimes Deliberately Obtuse Is NOT The Way To Go

Celebrated director Alfonso Cuarón finally follows up the brilliant Children of Men (2006) with Gravity. Sandra Bullock stars as Dr. Ryan Stone, a medical engineer on her first space mission, with space shuttle astronaut Michael Kowalsky (George Clooney) at the helm. But the mission goes awry when debris destroys their craft, leaving the duo tethered to each other in outer space and no way to get back home. With their oxygen diminishing, Stone and Kowalsky figure that their only chance for survival might be going further out into space. Cuarón wrote the film with his son Jonás.

I loved Children of Men. That final tracking shot was one of the coolest endings to a film I have seen in my life. Read the description of this movie. Now watch the trailer. It's one of the worst ones in the history of motion pictures. It tells you NOTHING, not even the stars or the premise. Only that the movie is in 3D like that is all we salivating movie goers want to see.

Well come on, it's called a teaser for a reason. ;) Alfonso Cuarón is one of my favorite directors. I will see this without question.
