Mr. Dressup

Mr. Dressup! RIP, Ernie Coombs. You were a fantastic part of my childhood.

Who else grew up watching him?

I just want to know what happen to Casey and Finnegin. One day they were there and the next day they weren't. And a large trunk was missing from the set. Just saying.

No. Mr Dress-up was a Canadian children's entertainer who had a tickle trunk that allowed him to dress up as many characters. Then he killed his two puppet sidekids. A kid named Casey and his mostly mute dog Finnigen.

Ahhhh Mr.D. :)
As an homage to him, we call the plastic tub my kids keep their costumes in, The Tickle Trunk.

My favourite was Alligator Al.

Have I told you my "Mr. Dressup" story yet?
Just in case I haven't.....
I was in kindergarten, we went to see Mr. Dressup LIVE IN PERSON!!!! I was so high on happiness that I "almost" didn't notice Mr. Dressup smoking in between the buildings as I was getting on the bus to go home. I was so crushed that he smoked. :(
Yes, I did forgive him, in case you're wondering. :)

Didn't he die years ago? I grew up on his show. I used to really love it. There was just some magic to it.

So it was a magic trick that went wrong that caused the disappearence of Casey and Finnegin. You can see I never let ANYTHING go. He wasn't fooling me. Even got that Friendly Giant to testify for him in court.

Mr. Dressup was so much like my Dad except less burly. I watched Mr. Dressup since before I can remember anything and it was he who made me want to draw.

He taught me a lot of things too such as playing safe in the winter around the roads. That is why I took the whole Casey and Finnegin loss so badly. Mr D just never seemed to type to do his own wetwork. He cared enough to teach me bike safety but didn't care enough to pledge to his death that he would find his missing friends. I just don't get it.
