I know if I saw them coming up my driveway to my castle I would just roll a giant tin foil ball down the ramp and crush them all. They don't seem menacing or practical in the least. They also look like they would make a whole lot of noise coming up the driveway. Good luck sneaking up on my castle, dumb ass.

I can forgive the attempt and not having read any stories with these guys in them, I cannot speak for anything cool they may be responsible for. Just going on looks, however, I am amazed that 'Amazing Stories' pushed these tin losers on their readers year after year. Did this magazine have a letters page. If I was twelve and saw these things you know I would be sending off a tersely worded letter to the editor.

But then again, I am notoriously difficult to please.

In 1936 those robots were some scary shit. They were the freakiest thing most people had ever encountered until the Nazis hit the scene.
They wouldn't scare my poodle if I had one.
Hey, it's 1936 for christs sake. Can't have a giant spaceship and cool looking robots at the same time.
They are kind of retro-cool, now.
