Chronicles of Riddick

Like the 'Resident Evil' franchise I get excited whenever Vin Diesel comes up with a movie based on his signature character - Riddick - the most dangerous man in the universe.

I loved the first movies and the animated feature a lot and now thanks to my boy Dez at Hollywood Spy I hear there are future plans for the character. The write-up sounds pretty good to me. You could get three good movies out of this one, especially with the great visuals you could bring to such a tale.

Let's face it, Vin isn't going to win any Oscars for his work but he is a near perfect action hero and I like how he carries himself in the Riddick movies. Even I was a little afraid of him like every character around him and I had the ushers to protect me.

"Vin Diesel has just released a new concept art picture for RIDDICK, the new chapter in the popular sf saga about Riddick, who, betrayed by his own kind and left for dead on a desolate planet, fights for survival against alien predators and becomes more powerful and

dangerous than ever before. Soon bounty hunters from throughout the galaxy descend on Riddick only to find themselves pawns in his greater scheme for revenge. With his enemies right where he wants them, Riddick unleashes a vicious attack of vengeance before returning to his home planet of Furya to save it from destruction. Vin Diesel has also revealed that David Twohy, the director, wants three different body looks for Riddick in the new sequel - the DiNorscio type, the Dom type, and the lean Furyan type."

CoR is one of my Wife's favorites and its pretty high up on my list too, for what it is. Good, quick moving action with beautiful visuals, cool sets, and bad ass fight scenes. It will be interesting to see if they can keep up the pace, or jump the shark, with the next one.

I can't wait for the new sequel although I am a bit sad that it will be more PITCH DARK and less CHRONICLES and I liked the second one much much better!

How will they do the three body types for Riddick? Will this be a live action or animated sequel?

I love the character--he's a burnt marsmallow type guy, my favorite.

Riddick=badass yum yum

I love in the second movie when they are trying to outrun the sunrise and the end when he has all these worshippers that he doesn't know what to do with. There is lots of cool story to work with there and like I said...he ain't gonna win no Oscars to do what he does best. XXX is dead but long live Riddick.

I liked both PITCH BLACK and the CHRONICLES of RIDDICK (although my wife refers to it as the Chronicles of Ridiculous) I'd love to see more although I was piussed that they just seemed to throw away the Jack character, especially when she grew up lookin' so hot and all...

In my version, Riddick has returned to seclusion after rejecting the offer to lead the Necromancer army he acquired at the end of Chronicles part one.

Despite the pleas of the Elementals he just don't give a shit about what the consequences of him releasing that powerful of an army on a weak universe. He has been fucked with so much in his life that he has no problem with just leaving everyone else to their deserved fate. Essentially he is one toddler on a tantrum. Well it's time this toddler got psychologically spanked.

I would like to see an unknown enemy clone Jack, rapidly age her and train her to be a deadly assassin that is sent to kill Riddick who for obviously reasons is too much trouble to be allowed to live in a corrupt universe that needs a hero.

Using the visage of the one person he actually ever cared about is seen just the thing to distract Riddick for the spit second that will allow her to get in a killing blow. They can use the same actress as in Chronicles. Like the way they clone Duncan Idaho in Dune: Massiah.

The Jack clone would of course fail and that would give Riddick some serious motivation to return a nicely violent "Fuck You" to those that dared to mess with Riddick's isolation and brings him back to the center of a Universal power struggle.

Remember he still knows of the army whose motto is 'you keep what you kill' - he may have told them he wasn't going to lead anyone and cut them loose but after he has decided to get revenge he realizes that he needs shock troops if he is going to get what he wants so the movie would also include a great battle between Riddick and a new powerful leader of the Necromancers

I would love to see Karl Urban again who would become Riddicks right hand man (for unknown reasons he decided to remain a general and not seek the leadership of the Necromongers) and General who respects and admires Riddick so much that he will sacrifice his life to save him. He is that honored to serve Riddick.

You find out at the end that it was the Elementals who cloned Jack in the first place. It's all part of an elaborate scheme to 'teach' Riddick a valuable and life altering lesson.

They correctly predicted that an vengeful Riddick might just start accepting the responsibility that comes with his abilities (you like how I got that in don't you?) even if it means their own extinction as a race which of course happens because of Riddick's vendetta.

The take away the one doubt Riddick has - that ONE man can't change shit in the Universe - and set him on a new path

You could CGI a wicked cool battle between Riddick and the Judi Dench as the last of the Elementals.

The movie ends with Riddick making a vow to the Last Elemental that he will seek out those who threaten the weak and innocent and deliver his own brand of Holy retribution upon them.

End of Part 2 - Riddick's Quest to find a lost tribe of his people. If ONE Furian is this much trouble, how much havoc will a thousand bring?

OH MY GOD that is freakin' brilliant. That is a post when I get back to posting.

I just read my comment again. I have to say that for coming right off the top of my head, that is again, FREAKIN' BRILLIANT. I should be writing stories for a living. My movie is freakin' Oscar bait bitches!
