Justice League - Doom

Based on the popular 'Tower of Babel' storyline, this is the latest animated feature from DC Comics. Once again, the adventure is terrific as is the voice acting, which is half of what makes these movies so memorable.

No one other than Kevin Conroy can do Batman for me. If you thought that Nathan Fillion would have made a good Green Lantern, you can live part of the fantasy as he does the voice of GL.

The story involves The Royal Flush Gang and Vandal Savage using the secrets of Batman to defeat the Justice League - secrets stolen by Ras Al Ghul.

Justice League: Doom finds Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, Cyborg and Batman on their heels when a team of super villains discover and implement the Dark Knight’s “contingency plans” for stopping any rogue Justice League member. The story is inspired by Mark Waid’s much-heralded “JLA: Tower of Babel.”

Hawkgirl is replaced by Cyborg to keep pace with the League's current comic book line-up.

The Legion of Doom includes, Mirror Master, Bane, Star Sapphire, Metallo, Cheetah and an evil Martian that I had never heard of before.

It was cool to see the location and design of the Legion of Doom's headquarters - very Superfriends.

I liked the script whcih showed the heroes using their powers to maximum effect. It made their defeat more intersting to watch. They really had to rely on themselves for survival that is not assured.

This one played out like a very good episode of the Justice League television series. That is not a fault. This is a very cool Superhero story.

10/10 - Because I can't deny my bias for this kind of quality entertainment. I just wish I had children to share this beautiful stuff with.

If you ever come across one of those beanies, buy TWO. New Fronties is great, especially the scenes of Martian Manhunter watching late night TV.
