Dune Is For Me
Over at Monkey Muck the question was asked - Which works of fiction create a world (or a version of reality) that you’d consider most enjoyable to live in?
For me it begins and ends with the Dune Universe created by Frank Herbert. How can you not love it. A dangerous universe full of political intrigue. Enemies all around you. The magical mystical spice only found on one desolate desert planet (don't worry, its a dry heat). A noble tribe called Fremen who have mastered a harsh world and ride the giant sand worm and who wait for a messiah to lead them to true freedom. The mouse shadow in the second moon. A world were the greatest thing of value you have is your code, your water and the allies you earn. Oh, and of course, the women with their blue within blue eyes. Oh yeh.
"I remember your Gom Jabar. Now you'll remember mine. I can kill with a word!"
"And his word shall carry death eternal, for those who stand against the righteous."
