Sometimes there is nothing better than a good old fashioned Italian sword and sandal adventure staring some muscle head as the hero Hercules to round out the weekend. Many of these were made in the later 50s and early 60s and there are always good for a laugh. Usually Hercules was played by Steve Reeves but in this he is replaced by his oft stunt double Alan Steele. It really doesn't matter who plays Herc in these ones as long as he is the most muscled guy on the set.
This time our Hero has come to lead a revolt against an evil queen who is sacrificing her people to alien moon men who live in a nearby mountain. Yeh, it is as good as it sounds and goofy as you would hope. The dubbing is terrible as is the cinematography but there are lots of traps for Hercules to escape and dangers to fight. I wish I had seen the 'Mystery Science Theatre 3000' spoofing on this one because there is something new to laugh at comes every couple of minutes as Herc shows off many feats of strength like bending fake steel bars and pulling fake trees out of the ground. Cool, campy fun.

The MST3K version is the only one I have seen, and was a lot of fun. They should put out a box set of their Hercules films, as they were some of their best episodes.
The only time anyone did anything interesting with Herc was, I think, in "Jason and the Argonauts," where Herc was all wildman looking and super-gay for Iolas. Otherwise, yeah; Alan Steele, Reg Park, Steve Reeves, Lou Ferigno. It's all pretty much the same.
The MST3K spoof of this was hilarious. My daughters and I loved it almost as much as Eegah and Manos. Seriously, man, I live in Anders Village off Alford. Let me know if you want to see a flick or go for wings or something.
