The Big Snit

When I saw the picture of the Scrabble tiles and posted it on my 'Files from the Cave of Cool' feature I was instantly reminded of one of the great, great animated shorts from the 'National Film Board of Canada' called 'The Big Snit'. Its one of the best examples of what makes Canadian humour the funniest in the world. All the best comedians come from Canada because we are inherently a funny people and have had to develop comedy to keep from killing each other when we are trapped together indoors through 8 months of cold a year. The Swedes kill themselves and we laugh...not at them but we laugh. Its the combination of the best of British and American comedy - Pythonesque silliness with the great timing of American stand up. This short is a perfect example of what I am talking about. At the beginning the couple are playing Scrabble. She has the word 'carrots' but has one letter out of place so she can't see it. He just has all 'E' tiles but he still mixes them up like they would spell something if he could just get them in the right order. That is too funny. I have posted this cartoon before but many of you don't go back into the distant past with postings from the Cave of Cool (Which you SHOULD..that stuff is GOLD BABY..GOLD!) so I am putting it up for a second time. Its just too sweet NOT to share. And please...for the love of god..STOP SAWING THE FURNITURE!

"Why don't you go join some shaka rocka roll band"?
"And I thought YOU wanted to play some SCRABBLE?" That is GOLD BABY..GOLD!
