The Borgias

Dez over at Hollywood Spy tipped me to this new production coming to 'Showtime' in the near future. I always liked this period of history because of all the corruption and murder that swirled around the oh so pure Vatican. Jeremy Irons is also great in most anything.

Yes, it looks good. And I wouldn't say that the Vatican has ever been particularly pure.

Never less so at those times. It's a facinating thing to see how hypocritical they have been over the centuries. And don't get me started on their response to the Holocaust.

I know how much you love these lush historical dramas. I wish we could watch this one together. After I get done with the 'Sheild' and 'Dr Who's' past five seasons I am moving on the 'The Tudors'. I seem to wait until shows end their run to watch them all at the same time.

who is JEFFERY IRONS? :)))
I can't even describe, Kal, how excited I am this spring for having three historical shows coming up - GAME OF THRONES, CAMELOT and THE BORGIAS!

Jeffery Irons is his little seen little brother. Don't you know nothing?

The Borgia's were an amazing family, but you had to be careful not to accept drinks from Lucretia.

You would think that after the first ten people that died from her poisoned punch bowl that they would do something about it. The rich can get away with anything.

bummer, I'm blushing in my lack of knowledge :)

Lucretia indeed was a dangerous damsel, but who could blame her, she really lived in a crazy family in a crazy town in some really crazy times.
