Play Me Out T-Rex

I got a call this morning from my Doctor. I got my regular three months blood and urine tests last last week and now he wants to go over them with me. He would not do that unless he was concerned. I know this guy. If he freaks over me eating a couple of tomatoes then he is freaking over my results.

I had a good run. I would have loved to see fifty but no one can even know how much time they get. I will write a more complete eulogy after Friday. Only four days to freak out. Pretty standard really.

Kal, maybe that is standard procedure to go over all your tests? I hope so, it seemed you were doing pretty good when you checked your own blood.
My mom had a friend who had diabetes forever. She did start getting sores on her toes and legs, but she was in her eighties. She died in her nineties. And it wasn't even from diabetes, her heart just stopped.
Let us know what the doctor says.

If it were serious he wouldn't have scheduled your appointment for Friday. You would have been sitting in his office already.

Unless you're in my area in which case that's a fast-track appointment. Usually it takes us two months to get a follow up for anything. Most people die before they get the news that they only have three months to live.

I wish we had your Speedy Gonzales Alberta health care here in BC!

Probably wants to know how you got all that tiger blood in you, you'll be ok...i know these things.

You can't go anywhere, pal. We won't allow it. Doctors are always concerned, so don't read anything into it yet.

The doctor ALWAYS calls you in to go over the test results. That way he can charge for an office visit. Hey, doctors gotta eat too.

Maybe he found out that I bought the container of nuts that is ALL cashews and not the cheaper mixed package. I still am stinging from the tomato lecture. But I was at COSTCO, it was so cheap.

Thanks for your support people. I appreciate your kindness.

Ugh. After the week I've had...if I never see the inside of a hospital again it'll be too soon.
All the best Cal.

How is he doing Sam? I need to remember that there are other people in the world than me sometimes.

Like my dad always says, don't freak out until you know there's something to freak out about. Holding out hope for you.

Don't worry, as Dr. Turk Turkleton says, "Sooner or later, everything stops bleeding. That is SO deep."

Kal said...

Wise words. The Turk was a shaman indeed.

Maybe he's just lonely and needs someone to talk to.

Much better Cal. Thanks for asking. :)

Remember the power of positive thinking!

And that worrying is like a rocking chair...it gives you something to do, but doesn't get you anywhere.

Lonely TS? He is a annoyingly handsome South African with the kind of accent that women love. Plus he stocks his clinic with Teutonic Aryan beauties. He is doing JUST fine.

Thanks for that Sarah. I will try to be positive but I need to worry. It's part of my process.
