Movie Quote Favorites

"But on that glorious day in May 1963, Gordo Cooper went higher, farther and faster than any other American. Twenty-two complete orbits around the world. He was the last American to go into space alone. And for a brief moment Gordo Cooper became the greatest pilot that anyone had ever seen." - The Right Stuff

LOVED that movie.. All the guys ('cept Gus Grissom..) seemed pretty spot on to their real-life counterparts.

A bit long, but an awesome film.

I loved the intermission in the middle of it. I can't get enough of that old Mercury astronaut stuff. I was a pilot as a younger man and Chuck Yaeger was my hero. That movie was mythmaking, sure, but I like to think Yaeger walked out of that crash holding his burning helmet and chewing his gum just like Sam Shepherd portrayed.

Great movie. The book is even better.

If you want more of the same, check out "From the Earth to the Moon" (HBO miniseries from 10 years ago).

Great movie! Great portrait of the space program. I guess you also like a lot Tom Hank´s "From the Earth to the Moon".

Loved that Top Hanks miniseries and another one I saw recently on the men who walked on the moon. We Seven was one of the first books I read about the space program. Those Mercury guys where the real deal.
