This Doesn't Look Bad At All

I really liked the original and if this trailer is any indication, this may be one Hollywood remake that can compete with it.

I've never heard of this, either the original or remake. It looks really cool.

You should watch the original. It's a very cool vampire movie with European sensibilities.

While the original movie, Let The Right One In, flawless, I'm willing to give this one a chance. It's directed by the guy who did Cloverfield (who said he thought about not doing it because the source movie was so good... always a good sign) and stars the boy from The Road and the girl from (500) Days Of Summer. Not too shabby.

By the way, in the novel the film is based on and, to a lesser extent, in the original movie, the little "girl" is actually a centuries old castrated boy. It seems as though the American version will definitely be side-stepping that issue.

I'm keeping my mind open.

I agree Matt. They do seem to have their ducks in a row with this one. I have high hopes for it too and I rarely say that about Hollywood remakes. I just hope people don't turn away from the original but want to see it in comparison.

I don't think the girl will be as good. The girl in the original was flawless. The boy is pulling the role off perfectly though. From what I hear it is almost scene for scene the original.
