Song Line Of The Day

"I want your love and all your lover's revenge, you need to write a bad romance."

I must be in a feverish state because I actually took a chance and listened to several Lady Ga Ga songs today. How can I hate her if I can't explain why I do, right?

Now I hate the person who got me to listen to her stuff because it's not bad. Some of the best Madonna-like dance music I have heard in a long time. The costumes are silly but she does solid pop. 'Bad Romance' is a very cool song.

Yes we have seen it all before but in a time when image is everything, she has come up with something, that upon first sight, may be easy to dismiss. Add her music to the mix and you are force to re-evaluate the entire package.

I'm with you. All it took was sitting down and listening to the album. Now I'm ga ga from Gaga...

Me too Nick. Finally I am hip and relevant to the kids again.

I felt that way when I listened to Amy Grant's Every Heartbeat for the first time.

The best facebook comment I've seen since I got on there was from a 13 yr old girl to her mother:

"Stop trying to be young!"

So, no Gaga for me. She is not for me, anyway. And that's as it should be. I can be young in my own way without trying to horn in on the kids. I'm not SUPPOSED to like her.

I realize I'm not saying this very well...

Well Amy Grant WAS the Lady GA GA of her time.

Megan, I hated her like I was supposed to until I listened to her songs which had to be triply cool to get past my hate filter. And wouldn't you know it, they did.

My buddy told me I don't have to look at her to enjoy her music which is how I choose to move forward with this topic.

But don't worry. I am not going out to buy Twilight books all of a sudden.

I, too, wrote her and her music off without giving her a chance. Nick W. was the one who made me listen to her. I'm not crazy about her, but I don't hate her anymore.

My sister heard her on a radio interview in the UK. Apparently her musical background has a strong jazz foundation, so I have respect that she knows her stuff.

It's got a strong hook, it's a song that keeps bouncing in your head after you hear it.
Kind of the way Pazuzu kept bouncing in Linda Blair's head in The Exorcist.
Back away slowly, children.

Lady GaGa is a guilty pleasure of mine too...it's good to keep your musical tastes open, whether it be a totally unknown band, or a super-popstar played constantly.

If it's good, it's good!

I don't think Amy Grant would ever have swallowed a crucifix.

Word Verification: Merwompa. I think that's the monster from Hoth with a fish tail.

Like her or hate her, she's genius

It just hums inside you. There's definitely an huge inspirational power (aka creative genius, sure)of some sort shining through there.

The stories of Gaga's pubescent years dancing in a bikini for Lower Manhattan after-hours clubs are a bit harrowing. You have to wonder what she experienced then, and then the wondering kind of flits away quickly cause you find you don't really want to know...
At least that's what a feel for her, a sort of a pity I guess. I am a counselor for abused kids after all.

But then also I feel a real disdain and alarm and anger at what she and this dark culture is doing to the children who come see me.
