We played with girls on our teams too. That never seemed like a weird thing to me. We needed the girls to make enough good teams to make for a competitive league in our age group. The girls also stole tons of bases because they were faster than the boys.
And look, the world didn't explode. It got a hell of a lot worse but didn't explode because boys and girls played on the same team.
