There Must Always Be A Cave Of Cool

Good To Be The Tsar

Until you aren't the Tsar anymore. It's such a temptation to go overboard with this kind of look but Tsar Nicolas always struck the right note, fashion wise.

"Take the Maker Hooks from our sietch and ride as a leader of men."

"Usul has called a big one. AGAIN it is the LEGEND!"

Fright Night (2011)

I just wrote a great witty review of the latest FRIGHT NIGHT remake that for some reason got chewed up by blogger. All this after two days of being unable to upload any images which, for me, is my version of Hell on Earth.

Aside from all that, I really enjoyed this one and it can stand proudly beside the 80s original. It's fresh and fun in a genre that seems devoid of any new ideas lately. That is a lot of baggage to overcome which it does magnificently. Collin Farrell is elegantly dangerous and there are some real nice character moments involving redemption and second chances. All the leads, especially Tennant and Farrell are terrific.

How Big Of A Dickhead Do You Have To Be To Get Kicked Out Of A Rebel Insurgency?

Libyan Rebels Send UCLA Freedom Fighter Packing

Al Jazeera English's Evan Hill tweeted an update about UCLA math major Chris Jeon, who tried to spend his summer vacation fighting with Libyan rebels:

Our team in east #Libya said rebels fed up with Chris Jeon, US kid who tried to join, told him 2 go, last seen on pick-up going 2 Benghazi.

Sorry, bro. And have fun with Homeland Security when you get back!

Flamma The Gladiator

I follow a lot of toy blogs on the internet. My gold standard for photography begins and ends with Stan from TOY HAVEN. His collection deserves to be a museum. Once again go to his site and enjoy the other photos he has taken of this magnificent gladitor figure. Once again the details are amazing.

Thanks Danielle

This is contributing to making today a near perfect day. I woke up with a storm outside my window and my bestest kitty by my side. I have faith that the next 24hrs will not suck.

Riddle Me This

Let me ask you a question. If you were an artist and were commissioned to do a piece of art, would you, or would you not put pictures of said pieces on your webite? Should I feel insulted that there is no mention on her website of the stuff she made for me or just let it go? I am really jazzed about the KAL plushies and wish other people thought they were cool as well.

Quote Of The Day - Doctor Who

"Don't run. I know you are scared. But never run when you're scared." Doctor to Melody Pond

I hate all those damn dying DOCTORS. I really really hate them. They are so dramatic and Shakespearian and it gets me everytime. All these events - past and present - paradoxes - just like chips covered in custard.

SUPERMAN - On Set

This uniform really gives that perfect 'alien' vibe which is exactly what you want for a character who, essentially, is an alien. The costume also fills Henry Cavill out a bit more, he has the heroic proportions to do the job. The hair is something else that I think they got right.

However, one cannot judge the Superman without first seeing how he plays Clarke. He can play moody Clarke or he can be Christopher Reeves Clarke (the bumbling fool). I like that Clarke, the one who is always elegantly in the way.

But I am happy to wait and see how this one goes. It's fun to get these little spoilers from time to time because on this occasion it's for a movie I am really looking forward to see.

Stuffed Joy

I was goofin around with my action figures today and I realized how well the toddler sized Captain America shield looked when combined with my Arctic Base plush doll. He can not only used it deflect bullets but he can also use the shield to slide downhill like a toboggan delivering bombs to the enemy's mountain fortresses.

As you can tell, I am in love with these dolls. I am so thankful for MD and BECCA for giving my vision two dimentional form. Kittizilla was the one who took my idea, based on their imagination and took it to a whole other level in her own recognizable style.
