Watership Down


My Moms asked me if this was a happy little story about bunnies and if I recommended she read it. I said NO. Because then she would want to see the movie and the MOVIE is just overkill to a childhood experience I wish I could have avoided. Book freaked me out, cartoon freaked me out more.

Watership Down is a good story, but the animation of the original movie was so crappy it took away much of the impact for me. The new BBC CGI effort looks a little better.

My wife loves the book but I found both movies to be dark and depressing.

I loved both the book and the original animated movie! I haven't seen the new movie yet though.
