Bullet Train

I have had this one on my movie list for months now and today was the perfect afternoon to pull the plug. Bradly is always solid and since LEGENDS OF THE FALL he's been one of those good looking actors that I can't get enough of. And he has a sense of humor which is key to a well written jigsaw puzzle of an assassin heist revenge fantasy adventure like this one.

I liked the train setting. Bad things can always happens on a movie train and you can pack it will all manner of quirky killers.

Bradly plays Ladybug, an assassin who has the worst luck. He is in therapy and has taken an easy 'job' while continuing to work on himself. He also won't carry a gun. His handler thinks that choice might get himself killed. Sandra Bullock is the voice on the phone.

Assassins with names like Lemon and Tangerine and the Hornet run across Bradly on his easy job. Everyone talks in non connected conversation that make no sense and are only there to make everything appear 'quirky'. Like Shakespeare you have to listen to eventually turn your brain into the frequency of the film.

Everything revolves around a silver case that Bradly has taken from the wrong people while other connecting tales of mayhem occur on the same train. Usually these are shown in flashback. All of them involve the death of a powerful warlord by those either running from him or running to him. While back on the train, everyone is trying to kill Bradly with the clock ticking down for everyone on the train which is under threat of destruction by the White Death  Trust me it will make sense once you watch the film and all it's reveals. Is the ride worth it? Let's wait until the end to see if all the crazy pays off.

The fight scenes are great and violently exciting with everyone talking the same language like they work in the same office instead of being assassins on a train. They entire cast get the joke are are fully  into the fun. Then things get wild and a poisonous snake is now on the train for more unexpectant and completely unnecessary mayhem.

Well what do you know? The ending was worth all the chaos...or not. It had to take things way over the top to get the resolution that they did. I liked it. I am a big fan of a high concept when you go FULL RETARD on the execution. This one succeeded for me in that manner.. Do yourself a favor and watch the film.

This movie was absurd and made no sense and was over-produced to the point of being garish, and everyone in it was so far over the top I couldn't believe it.

Naturally, I loved it!

You are right. You said in one sentence what I tried to say. It was very over produced. I just saw that in the script.

I’m not ashamed to say that I liked it. Movies are sometimes supposed to be absurd.

the high concept/full retard execution did it for me...they were over the top with everything. No frame was spared of the smirk.
