One of my favorite ancient artifacts is the Casket of Ancient Winters. You open up this mystical Norse box and your release endless winter forever and ever. I like the whole idea of that and a quest to find the Casket so that it can be closed and everything can return to normal, especially beach resorts that need the tourists.
This one is totally for the kids but I found it a pleasant diversion with a few fresh characters like Reptyle and Captain Marvel to fill out the team of Avengers fighting Loki.

The Casket of Ancient Winters makes me think of the concept of nuclear winter.
