My Favorite Graphic Novel Of All Time

Winner of five Eisner and Harvey Awards, KINGDOM COME is the best-selling graphic novel from acclaimed writer Mark Waid and superstar painter Alex Ross. This new 20th Anniversary edition features sketch material and more that provides insight into this rich world.

Set in the not-so-distant future, the DC Universe is spinning inexorably out of control. The new generation of heroes has lost their moral compass, becoming as reckless and violent as the villains they fight. The previous regime of heroes—the Justice League—returns under the most dire of circumstances, which sets up a battle of the old guard against these uncompromising protectors in a battle that will define what heroism truly is. Collects KINGDOM COME #1-4.

Agreed. This book brought me back into comics after the ridiculous train wreck of the early 90's. Best comics story, art, and series of all time in my book. Should have been the blueprint for DC for the next 20 years.

It's great. Especially with the extra pages that were added years later that show the stories end 1000 years into the future. I even have the radio drama based on the story. Two cassette tapes. I need to look for the MP3.

great book, and the best part is that it's technically an elseworlds story of the golden age DC characters...love it!

They tried to drag that Superman into DC continuity but it didn't work too well. Though I did enjoy the Justice Society issues he was a part of.

yes, that was a great run, begining to end.
