If You Remember This Set Then You Are My Peopel

As a kid I didn't drink a ton of pop but I drank a ton of juice or Kool-Aid or concentrated lemonaid out of this jug. It seemed to be the perfect amount of water and concentrate or powder to make the best juice. Then you added ice cubes to your plastic cup and even when the ice melted it still was the perfect juice flavor. Cherry Kool-Aid and Beep were like blood to me. I had a set like this right through University and while living on my own for twenty years. I am a creature of habit.

Of course we all wanted Goofy Grape and his buddies but those were not sold in Canada and there was no internet to order them from.

CHOO CHOO CHERRRY was my favorite.

We got the powders but not the specialty cups in Canada. I remember saving up the points and ordering one of the cups gut they never arrived in the mail. Nothing I order ever came in the mail that I ordered aside for the book STRANGE STORIES AMAZING FACTS which was the best book I ever read. So interesting that it would be the one book I would take with me on a desert island.

I have had this book for 40 years and it was always in my briefcase in case I need a relevant story to tell to the kids if I had time at the end of class.

We sure did make a lot of Kool-Aid Pops and Kool-Aid ice cubes. Growing up in Tucson, they came in handy during the summer. Hey, where's Loud Mouth Lime? Evidently they changed up the names once or twice.

Didn't have Beep down here. It was Donald Duck OJ for me.

Was it extra sweet and tasted like no citrus beverage before or since. We always believe it was a recipe left after the war.

Donald Duck OJ was sweeter than the other brands back then. Disney was into sweet. Peter Pan Peanut Butter was also sweeter than Skippy's or Jiffy, or Jif or whatever. That's why us kids liked the Disney brands.
